Articulation Process

Text of flow chart: Either the college or the high school may ask about creating an articulation. College Connections office facilitates meeting between high school and college instructors to review curriculum. If curriculum does not match, agreement is not created at that time. If curriculum matches, agreement is created. Every year curriculum is reviewed to maintain articulation. Meetings are held at least every two years to maintain articulation.

Step By Step

  1. Tech Prep representative visits high schools to fill out forms with students likely to earn an “A” or “B” in the course. Visits for Quarter schools and for 1-semester articulated courses are in November and May. Full year course visits are in May.
  2. Student fills out application to college awarding the articulated credit.
  3. Student fills out Articulated Credit Form.
  4. Articulated credit cannot be processed without both application and articulation form
  5. High school teacher signs Credit Form and enters grade earned.
  6. High school registrar verifies grade and completion date and returns to teacher.
  7. High school teacher sends to Tech Prep office. Forms can be sent by District Truck mail to Grossmont College, or mailed to:

       Leslie Blanchard
       CTE Support Specialist
       Grossmont College
       8800 Grossmont College Drive
       El Cajon, CA 92020

  8. Tech Prep office reviews forms and forwards complete packets to Admissions & Records office.
  9. College Admissions & Records office awards credit on an official college transcript and adds Tech Prep “flag” to student’s file.
  10. College departments will receive names of students who have earned articulated credit in each program area.
