The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District, in partnership with the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce, will continue its “Business Solutions Academy” in March with professional development workshops to assist small business owners.
The workshop topics will include emotional intelligence on Wednesday, March 21, and creativity, innovation and problem solving on Wednesday, March 28. Both workshops will be held from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the Chamber offices, 201 S. Magnolia Ave. in El Cajon. The cost to attend each workshop is $45 per person for Chamber members and $60 per person for non-Chamber members. On March 21, the workshop will cover the role that emotions plays in teamwork, problem solving and exceptional customer services. Workshop participants will learn a comprehensive introduction to the subject matter, an understanding of and practical application of the five key competencies of emotional intelligence and practical examples and activities that can be used to create or enhance a positive work environment as part of a business retention strategy.
On March 28, the workshop will help employees understand the difference between making decisions and solving problems; recognize the importance of creativity and innovation; and identify ways to remove productivity barriers which open up new avenues to creativity and enhance problem solving skills. Workshop participants will benefit by learning proven methods and strategies for decision making, understanding creativity and the innovation process and obtaining conflict resolution strategies to increase personal and team productivity.
