Developing a Positive Orientation Toward Diversity

September 13, 2018

03:00 PM - 04:00 PM

Cuyamaca College Student Center, Room I-207

Cuyamaca College's Diversity Dialogues workshop series opens its fall 2018 season with "Developing a Positive Multicultural Orientation towards Diversity: Self-Reflection about our Diverse Identities and Cultural Orientation" from 3-4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Student Center in Room I-207.

Presented by Mayumi Y. Douglass, M.S., Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and AAMFT clinical supervisor, this free workshop is intended to normalize the fact that we all have certain limitations or biases engaging with cultural issues, and to explore individuals or groups that result in negative reactions. The goal is to increase our awareness about cultural prejudices and make consistent efforts to engage with other culturally diverse individuals.

Diversity Dialogue workshops are open to the public.
