ECHO Concert: Flute and Harp

The East County Harmonics Organization (ECHO) Chamber Music Series continues with "Julie Smith Phillips and Rose Lombardo: Flute and Harp Through Time" set for 7:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, at Cuyamaca College's Samuel M. Ciccati Theatre in the B Building. 

The evening's performance features the two artists performing the music of Bach, Gabriel Faure, Maurice Ravel and others.

Lombardo is principal flute for the San Diego Symphony. The Julliard-trained musician has performed worldwide and has played in some of the most beautiful halls, including Carnegie Hall, Bolshoi Zal at the St. Petersburg Philharmonia, Suntory Hall, Seiji Ozawa Hall, Jordan Hall and Boston Symphony Hall.

Julie Smith Phillips, appointed principal harpist of the San Diego Symphony, is one of the most prominent young American harpists today. Phillips was the silver medalist winner in the 2004 USA International Harp Competition and bronze medalist in 2001. She made her National Symphony Orchestra debut in 2003 and has been honored in numerous competitions throughout the country.

Tickets are $15 for general admission ($10 presale discount up until 24 hours before performance) and $5 for students. Tickets are available online.
