District Services Classified Senate

Colleagues,
Due to little interest shown in participating in District Services Classified Senate as evidenced by few nominations received for Senate officers, it is with great reluctance that we announce the dismantling for now of the District Services Senate E Board.
Grossmont College Classified Senate has generously agreed to welcome any District Services classified professionals to attend Grossmont’s Senate meetings and to take advantage of professional development and training opportunities.
The District Services Classified Senate structure will remain in place on paper for now until such time in the future that there is sufficient interest and active participation to present the possibility of operating again as a separate Senate.
It is our sincere desire to ensure classified professionals will still have a community and an opportunity, if desired, to continue their personal growth through opportunities provided by Grossmont’s Senate. We deeply appreciate Grossmont College Classified Senate’s welcoming District Services classified professionals into their fold. We encourage everyone to check out what Grossmont’s Senate has to offer.

Meetings: 1st, 3rd and 5th Fridays from 1:30-3:00
Classified Senate shall remain in motion to develop cooperation among administration, faculty, and classified staff at Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District. We advocate the value of classified staff contributions to the college learning environment and the success of students at GCCCD.
Classified Senate Vision: Provide classified staff a voice to participate in the initiation, development, and evaluation of all District policies and procedures that support educational programs and services for students at Grossmont and Cuyamaca Colleges.
Classified Senate Mission: Build and cultivate a unified community which embraces our uniqueness and promotes equity-minded leaders in participatory governance.
