Cuyamaca brings on former U.S. Olympians to coach women’s Track & Field

Cuyamaca College is building their athletics program, and was thrilled this fall to announce the appointment of several new coaches to the Women's Track & Field Team. Two-time Olympian Chris Benard was name the new Head Coach of the Women's Track & Field team. His illustrious career in the triple jump speaks to his dedication and passion for the sport. His leadership will be instrumental in shaping the future of our, and his presence is sure to inspire both current and future student-athletes.

Also joining the Track & Field coaching team are two exceptional athletes who have achieved greatness in their respective disciplines. Laulauga Tausaga is a world champion gold medalist in the shot put and discus throw, and will add a powerful dynamic to the coaching staff. Rolland 'Jay' Slade, as a Paralympic guide-runner for Team USA, brings a unique perspective and a deep understanding of overcoming challenges. Jay is a former Cuyamaca Coyote with sprint records still on the Cuyamaca College Men's Track & Field All-Time best list.
