The Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District has been proud to offer higher learning opportunities to hundreds of thousands of students in East County and beyond since Grossmont College opened in 1963 and Cuyamaca College opened in 1978. Our colleges have transformed the lives of generations. 

Grossmont and Cuyamaca colleges serve as an economic driver for San Diego County. A 2023 economic impact report found that the District had a $1.3 billion economic impact on San Diego County, enough to support nearly 13,500 jobs.

More than 20,000 students come to Grossmont and Cuyamaca colleges each year to earn college degrees and/or certificates, prepare for careers, update skills, and to pursue their personal learning passions. Our faculty, classified professionals, and administrators are committed to ensuring that students are successful in pursuing their education, and reaching their goals.

Our colleges offer outstanding academic programs to students that rival or surpass any four-year university. Among the many outstanding programs available, Grossmont College well- known for its outstanding nursing, culinary and theatre arts programs, while Cuyamaca College is renowned for its ornamental horticulture, automotive technology and engineering programs. In addition to strong academics, the colleges offer comprehensive student support services to help students thrive, including financial aid, academic advising, and tutoring.

East County residents have shown their support of the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District through approval of bond measures in 2002 and 2012 that have allowed the colleges to construct top-notch state-of-the art facilities that serve our students and the community. Recently completed projects at Grossmont College include the Performing and Visual Arts Center, and a renovation of the Science, Math & Career Technology Complex. At Cuyamaca College, a new Student Services building was constructed, along with a renovation of the Ornamental Horticultural Complex.
