The Grossmont College Adult Reentry Program will host an orientation, “Create Your Life,” 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6, in Building 60, Room 180, in Griffin Gate.

The goal of the program is to provide prospective students an overview of the training opportunities and support available to students returning for their education, often years after they've last stepped into a classroom. Grossmont College alum Trina Hester, a former reentry student who is now assistant general manager of development at KPBS, San Diego County’s public broadcasting station, will lead a panel discussion featuring Grossmont College adult reentry alum talking about the challenges of balancing families and work schedules.

Attendees at the free orientation will learn about the array of student services at the college and receive a wealth of useful information, including:

  • Admission & records and the college’s on-line application process,
  • Registration procedures
  • Financial aid, tutoring and Veteran’s Affairs
  • Disabled Student Programs & Services, EOPS (Extended Opportunity Programs and Services), Career, Student Employment Programs and Counseling
  • Learning Technology Resource Center and instructional and technology resources, OPT (Office Professional Training)
