Sustainability

One of GCCCD’s district wide priorities is to develop sustainability initiatives that position the district as a regional leader in responsible and accountable stewardship of all resources, and promote the integration of green practices into all endeavors.

The district’s Facilities Master Plan defines six key sustainability goals:

Be local and regional leaders in training the green workforce.
Reduce, reuse and recycle.
Improvement environments for working and learning.
Foster environmental stewardship and economic prosperity.
Strive for energy independence with collective consciousness.
Be responsible and accountable for water use and management.

The development of sustainable facilities will focus on six essential areas:

Habitat Preservation & Restoration
Storm Water
Transportation
Waste Reduction & Management
Water Use & Reuse
