Tours
All persons visiting the campus are expected to conduct themselves in accordance with standards of the District which are designed to perpetuate its educational purposes, and to comply with campus rules, city and county ordinances, appropriate educational code sections, and state laws.
It is the responsibility of each individual to abide by District Policies and Procedures when on GCCCD property. Information can be found at GCCCD Governing Board Policies and Procedures https://www.gcccd.edu/governing-board/policies-procedures.php.
Partnerships Programs
Education Code 76001 and 76002 authorize college to admit minors but also permits colleges to establish criteria for admission based on age, grade level, and eligibility.
Students are expected to take primary responsibility for their own safety and conduct, and this applies to minors on campus as well.
Field Trips and Non-enrolled persons attending a course:
Section 35330 of the California Education Code states in part: “All persons making the field trip or excursion shall be deemed to have waived all claims against the District for injury, accident, illness, or death occurring during or by reason of the field trip or excursion. Participants in the field trip. Excursion are to abide by all rules and regulations governing conduct during the field trip. Excursion and failure of a student to comply with rules may result in the student being sent home at the parent/ guardian’s expense. Field trips are voluntary and a privilege. Under Section 35330 (d), Community Colleges are granted immunity and are not liable for injuries that students, teachers, and chaperones may suffer when on GCCCD Campus during a partnership event.
